Poetry & Working conditions

The poem that I am reading is "I know why the caged bird sings." The poem is about a bird that is alone in his cage and the bird sings to describe how it feels and the bird has dreams of freedom.
the poetic techniques that Maya Angelou uses in the poem are metaphors, and a similes.
I can relate to this poem because this how sometimes people that working in factories can sometimes feel so you never Know what can happen. Some workers might even go off the deep end, because of how they are being treated so you never Know. Through research, I have learned about poor working conditions in the United States and in other countries.
I can relate to this poem on my own daily bases of living because I sometimes wonder why the caged bird sings that's a mystery to me.

Poetry Response (The Kiss)

The inference that I can make from the poem called  The Kiss is that she thought the kiss  was going to be the the same for ever. but it didn't  really matter who you kiss as long as you love that person. The that best describes the authors feelings is love. I think the that the authors feelings can be compared to love because she 's talking about a powerful kiss.
